- Services Available - Information on WIOA services is available at the One Stop Center located at Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) Americus Career Center, 120 W. Church Street, Americus, GA 31709 or directly contact the WIOA Service Provider partner listed below.
- Business Services are available to local area businesses and provide labor market information, referrals to WIOA services, WIOA funded On-The-Job Training and Work Experience opportunities that can assist local businesses to obtain the employees needed by their business, community job fairs, etc.
- GED Plus Program is designed for individuals who need to obtain their General Education Diploma (GED). For more information contact: Eckerd Connects/Paxen, 1558 B E Forsyth St, Americus, GA or (229) 931-8990.
- Work Experience Program is a vailable to eligible individuals who have limited or no prior work history. This program will match the individual with a local area employer to be able to gain knowledge and expand their employment skills. - Individual Training Accounts (ITA's) Program is available to individuals interested in educational or occupational skills training with eligible Training Providers. ITA's training time is limited to 2.5 years. - On-The-Job Training (OJT) Program is available to eligible individuals and local area employers. Employers are referred to WIOA eligible individuals who meet their identified job duties. Employers have the opportunity to interview candidates and will make the final determination on who they wish to hire for employment openings. The OJT participating employer is provided reimbursement for the participant training wages during the training period. - Rapid Response Services are available to local area employers who experience employee layoffs or business/facility closures which impact 50 or more employees. WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD
The Middle Flint Workforce Development Board (WDB) provides local governance, oversight and policy guidance for WIOA services in the area. The Middle Flint WBD consist of members of the eight-county area and represents individuals from the private employment sector, education, community-based, organized labor, economic development, and vocational rehabilitation. River Valley Regional Commission (RVRC) is appointed by the Middle Flint Workforce Development Board to serve as the WIOA administrative entity and grant recipient for WIOA funds.
